It’s What We Do Lyrics

It’s what we do

I love
You lust
He opens
She closes
It shares
We take
You repose
They distrust

I abuse
You enjoy
He softens
She hardens
It resists
We surrender
You diminish
They strengthen

I long
You repulse
He dazzles
She soothes
It repeats
We amaze
You grieve
They comfort

I silence
You arouse
He rages
She pacifies
It doubts
We secure
You fear
They hope

If You Were Here Lyrics

If you were here

If you were here
You’d probably be standing right there.
But if you were there
Would I be standing here, too?

And if I was here and you, too,
what would you say?
Hey, here you are?!
And then me: hey, here I am.
And then what?

And then what?
Would I stay?
Shortly?
Thinking about who we used to be?
Or would I leave?
With you?
To find out who we are now?

Honey Lyrics

Honey

Your words are sweet and sensual,
honey, they drip from the tip of your tongue right into me.
And I feel them blooming out of my pores
with a tingling.
I feel them on my skin
like a scent, gently wrapping me up.
Lying there for me to touch.

I reach out and kiss you in my dream.

Fallen

If I had fallen for you then
You’d had taken me into your world like a prize you had won,
And carelessly in love I would have followed you,
Only eyes for you,
followed you all the way.

Hand in hand, all the way through sunlit lanes,
past beautiful trees and shining rivers,
down to the depths, deep into the forest
Where everything is soothing and dark,
no light that blinds you,
no sound to hurt your ears

Truly beautiful,
green moss, elegant farns,
no step is heard.
Light of day seldomly breaks through here.
Massive trees,
a dome of ever changing greens
far above, beyond my sight.
I loose myself trying to count
All the leaves. All yours.
Taking in light and air through
your eyes, your smiles.
Your touches, your kisses.
Then sinking back again into this world of ever changing greens.

Still counting the leaves above, my head is being twisted backwards
I must have missed how you dropped my hand, but you must have!
For after a while I realize I am alone now.
Deep in your forest. Where have you gone?
The wind’s turning cold,
night has come.

I have been standing here so long looking up,
my arms are stretched out to the skies,
desperately almost I notice now,
I have become part of a tree,
a beautiful tree, but still,
so still!
My feet part of the roots,
my body grown into the trunk,
my arms turned into branches, reaching out.
For you. For air. For light. For you.

And I notice the other trees around me are women as well
We are your forest:
Your mother,
your sister,
your daughters,
your wife,
all women that ever were yours
and me.

A house, a chair, a table, a bed, a closet, a toothbrush,
a comb, an apple tree,
A rosebush by a bench, a hand to help us grow.

A person for life, a friend, a lover, some doctors, a mechanic, a hammer, two nails,
A sister, a brother, a mother and father, a neighbour, a dog, a cat and a bird,
And someone to pass our love and insight on to.
That’s All We Need!

Kindness, curiosity, jugdment, hope, confidence, faith,
A pen, a piece of paper, a book, a picture, a piano, a song,
And sometimes just one look. That’s All We Need!
