“Top-class vocal sounds: Singer Anette von Eichel is considered a fixture of the Cologne jazz scene with her great timing and clever lyrics.”
– ORF, Austria
“The latest album by Anette von Eichel is a very special album, very beautiful and surprising, clearly from a singer who has found her very own way in modern jazz.
”
– Concertzender (NL)
“This is what contentment and being at one with yourself sound like: the new album presents the best Anette von Eichel ever.
”
– Jazzthing
“She can come across like an art chick, but one inspired by Rickie Lee Jones. Von Eichel really makes a statement here as this is the first set where she’s the hand on the composing wheel throughout. Veering between beatnik and hipster, she’s totally a safe haven for you.
”
– Midwest Records (USA)
“… Finally, after a long time, I have discovered a singer who has a very distinct expression, is not afraid, is self-confident, and what’s more – she scats. And how! Definitely a must – highly recommended.”
– SK Jazz, Slovakia
“Von Eichel makes it clear from the very first seconds of the record that we are dealing with a fearsomely good modern jazz musician. Enchanting lightness, blue-bearded and owlish!

Current album: Belonging
Eichel’s Belonging is an artful reflection on home, identity and musical roots. With her quartet, the renowned jazz vocalist unfolds a sound spectrum that virtuously explores the boundaries between classical jazz, singer-songwriter aesthetics and subtle hints of rock.
Nine original compositions, complemented by subtly interpreted classics such as Elton John’s Rocket Man and A Time for Love, form the heart of the work. An album that is not content with pleasing elegance, but reveals an intellectual and emotional depth that resonates for a long time.
